New Delhi, Oct 11 : Fashion designer Aneeth Arora threw a pajama party on the ramp of Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016.
The ‘ Pajama Party’ collection was the introduction of her brand ‘Pero’s sub-brand, ‘Lazy Pero’, which is all about lounge and comfort clothing.
The silhouettes were a mix of comfortable trousers, long dresses, linen jackets, baby doll dresses. Hand- woven khadi pajama stripes from West Bengal, brocade from Banaras and crochet for which they worked with a group of 15 to 20 refugee women from Afghanistan and hand embroidery.
The fabrics used were hand-woven, stamped and hand-embroidered mulmuls, linens from West Bengal, sheer cottons from chanderi Madhya Pradesh and not missing out on their signature kanni selvedge, which subtly appeared on the hems and edges of the garments.
What stole the show were the fun and frolic models with 1950’s inspired makeup and hairdo along with Elvis Presley’s photographs.
Aneeth indeed left a smile on the faces of everyone who were present for her show.
The five-day fashion gala, Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Maybelline Spring Summer 2016 will showcase a total of 56 designers this year and will conclude on October 11. (ANI)
