London: British tennis star Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears have become proud parents of their first child on Tuesday. The couple were blessed with a baby daughter.
According to the Guardian, Scotland first minister Nicola Sturgeon and her Labour counterpart Kezia Dugdale were among the first ones to congratulate the two-time Grand Slam champion on Twitter.
The couple got married in Murray’s hometown of Dunblane last April and had announced the pregnancy last summer.
Murray had been apart from Sears in the final weeks of pregnancy as the world number two reached the Australian Open final before being beaten by Novak Djokovic. (ANI)
