Andhra Pradesh: Fire Broke out in a Superfast express

AMARAVATI: A fire broke out in the Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express, today around 2 am at East Godavari district.

According to the report published in Times of India, the fire erupted near Gollaprolu station in a pantry car of the running train. The pantry car of the train was completely gutted in the fire. No casualties have been reported so far, but trains in AP were delayed.

The delayed trains include Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express, Yesvantapur-Howrah Duronto Express, Tirupati-Puri Express, Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Godavari Express, Chennai Central-Puri Express, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Duronto Express and Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express. The train was heading to Jamshedpur in Jharkhand from Bengaluru.

To prevent the spreading of fire, the train was immediately stopped and the pantry car was detached after noticing the flames.

The S1 coach, adjacent to pantry car was also detached. Later a coach was attached at Visakhapatnam to accommodate the passengers of S1 coach.

Officials said normal train movement was restored on Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam section by 6 am.
