Hyderabad, February 17: Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned twice today as the Opposition members stalled the proceedings demanding discussion on burning issues, including the police ”excesses” in Osmania Univesity Campus.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, Speaker N Kirankumar Reddy announced that he was disallowing the adjournment motion noitce given by the All India Majlis-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on attack on Muslim minorities in Nizamabad district.
Even as the TDP members from Telangana region pressed for an immediate statement from Home Minister P Sabita Reddy on the violence in Osmania University Campus, AIMIM members demanded an immediate explanation from the Government on the attack on minorities in Patangal village in Bodhan Mandal of Nizamabad district.
AIMIM members rushed to the Well of the House following which the Speaker announced adjournment of the House for ten minutes.
