Andhra Minister holds talks with fasting TRS chief

Hyderabad, December 02: Andhra Pradesh Government today held talks with TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao for ending his fast-unto-death, demanding a separate Telangana state.

Labour Minister R Venkata Reddy, who was sent as an emissary of the government, met Rao at the government hospital at Khammam tonight and appealed him to end his fast.

“I have been sent as an emissary by the Chief Minister and the Cabinet. I spoke to him (Rao). I told him to take care of his health. His health is Ok. I told him the government is also sending more doctors and other facilities (in the hospital),” Venkata Reddy told reporters after the meeting.

Earlier in the day, the TRS chief said he was not interested to talk to state ministers who do not have any decision-making authority on the Telangana statehood demand.
