Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh): In a bid to increase the employment in the state, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday, inaugurated 75 industrial units at the industrial cluster near Amravati, asserting that the industries are backbone of development.
Speaking at the event, Naidu said, “Industries is the backbone of development. After agriculture, industries are much productive.”
He also added that the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will play a crucial role in the development.
Naidu also focused on the industry-friendly nature of the state.
“Andhra Pradesh is the most industry friendly state. AP has very long sea coast, which can be used as industrial corridor. We welcome industrialists from all over the world. We will provide all facilities; give all permissions, real time subsidies etc.”
He also spoke about Andhra Pradesh’s successful history of overcoming struggles
He said, “Andhra Pradesh has a long history of struggles. At first we came out of Madras presidency, all Telugu regions combined to form the state. Few years ago after bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh stood barefoot.”
“In these 3 years my government could pull out of financial losses. This year our GDP growth has been impressive. I have experience of developing Hyderabad. AP people believed in my experience and gave me the chance to develop the state,” he added.
He also spoke about the people friendly nature of the project.
“We have started housing scheme for the poor. The industries should also follow such plans. I suggest that we take care of employees so that they adopt ‘walk to work’,” he said.
Naidu stressed on the development of inland water ways for facilitating transportation
“Andhra Pradesh is developing inland water ways. They cover all parts of the state. Once completed, those water ways will be useful for transport,” he noted.
He also thanked the Resident Telugus Association for bringing these 75 MSMEs to the state.
The 75 MSMEs are being allotted plots at Veerapaneni Gudem village near Gannavaram in the outskirts of Vijayawada. The MSMEs held an exhibition of their products at the convention center. It is interesting to note that these MSMEs have shifted from Hyderabad to Vijayawada in the post bifurcation scenario. These industries are estimated to provide employment to as many as 2600 personnel and start production within one year.
Minister for Industries Amarnath Reddy and other officials also took part in the program. (ANI)
