Andhra CM conducts aerial survey of flood-affected areas

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cheif Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of both East and West Godavari districts. Chief Minister Naidu also announced compensation of Rs 25,000 per hectare.

After conducting the survey, he reviewed meeting with collectors and officials at Rajahmundry airport and said flood effect is much higher in 45 villages of East Godavari district.

There is a huge loss of crops in 6600 hectares. Roads and bridges in the region would be repaired at a cost of Rs 35 crore.

Meanwhile, 1500 TMC of water flows from river Godavari into the Bay of Bengal, the balance should be achieved by diverting Godavari water. Polavaram project works is finished with 57.5 per cent and it will be completed by May 2019.
