Senior Congress leader Anam Vivekananda Reddy has said that the CBI inquiry would reveal who were involved in irregularities and who were not.
Speaking at Assembly media point on Tuesday, Anam said that Kiran Kumar Reddy government would not allow any sort of irregularities. He said that the real Congress leaders would not spare those who had earned one lakh crores of rupees while being in the Congress and criticizing it after leaving.
Asked whether the Congress party would use Dr YSR’s portrait in future, Anam said the ruling party would use photos of Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation. He said that it was a common tradition in the Congress party that portraits of PCC chief and Chief Minister are used during elections.
He made it clear that he and others were not political heirs of Dr YSR, but heirs of Congress party. “I became block level president to MLA only because of the Congress party and not because of individuals”, he said. “Congress party gave MP ticket to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and made YSR as PCC chief and Chief Minister for two terms. Jagan earned one lakh crore rupees being in the Congress party and was criticizing the same party after leaving it”, he bemoaned. He also pointed out that the Congress party has distinction of sending its erring party MP Suresh Kalmadi and alliance party MPs Kanimozhi and A Raja to jail. He said all were equal though he may be Satyam Ramalinga Raju or Suresh Kalmadi.
Responding to another question, he said that victory and defeat are very common in the elections. Anam said that he would win the Nellore Lok Sabha seat easily. (NSS)
