Aligarh, December 15: The Aligarh Muslim University on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indonesia’s Darussalam Institute of Islamic Studies to jointly organise conferences and cultural programmes and exchange faculty members.
These two institutes agree to organise conferences, seminars and scientific discussions on various issues including developing curriculum on Islamic Studies, Shariah, Arabic language and Islamic heritage and bringing the social and human sciences into an Islamic perspective.
Both the institutions will hold joint cultural programmes and exchange faculty members, according the MOU signed after a seven member delegation of the Darussalam Institute met AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis and other senior university officials.
The Indonesian delegation also visited the departments of theology, Islamic studies, Arabic and the university library.
