AMU students warn against inviting RSS men at convocation

Agra: Warning the university administration against inviting any RSS functionary at the University’s convocation, the AMU students’ union said that AMU authorities will be squarely responsible for the consequences in case any RSS functionary attends the convocation.

It must be noted that the convocation scheduled on March 7 would be chaired by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

The ToI has quoted Secretary AMUSU, Mohd Fahad as saying “If any Sanghi or anyone associated with Gandhi’s assassination and demolition of the Babri Majid attends the convocation, they will not be treated well as we know how to deal with such elements”.

He is said to have told that the students have not forgotten Kovind’s statement that Islam and Christianity are “alien to the nation” but they respect his constitutional position.
