New Delhi, November 10: Students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today decided to intensify their stir to demand resignation of Vice Chancellor Abdul Aziz on the issue of alleged murder of a fellow student by hooligans.
The students, who are continuing their agitation here, also demanded that the decision to close the university sine die should be revoked immediately.
They said their prime demand is removal of the vice chancellor. Students’ Union of JNU has also joined the AMU students in their agitation.
The AMU has been closed indefinitely by the authorities following agitation by the students, demanding action against those responsible for the murder of a fellow student. The students have been demanding better security arrangement in the campus to check such incidents.
Nineteen students have been suspended and declared out-of-bounds from AMU campus in the last two weeks.
