AMU students hold protest against the death of Omer Khan

Aligarh: Students of Aligarh Muslim expressed great anger over the killing of Omer Khan by anti-social elements in Rajasthan. They staged protest march and submitted memorandum to university administration. The march was conducted from Maulana Azad Library canteen to old Changi gate amidst slogans ‘RSS barbad ho, barbad ho’. They demanded strict action against the killers of Omer Khan and passing of Protection from Lynching Act, Manav Suraksha Kanoon (Human Security Bill) MASUKA to stop such incidents in future.
AMU student said that during present government’s rule, price of everything increased except human blood. Killing of innocents has become a common thing. During BJP rule people are killed on the basis of what they eat or drink. They are assaulted on donning particular attire.
It was in Alwar that 55-year-old dairy owner Pehlu Khan from Haryana was lynched by a mob of cow vigilantes in April this year. This emboldened anti-social elements who lynched a 35-year-old, dairy farmer on the allegation of smuggling. Omer Khan’s dismembered body was found on the railway tracks near Govindgarh in Alwar district of Rajasthan on Friday. He was thrashed and shot dead by a crowd of cow vigilantes when he was transporting four cows to his native village Ghatmika in Bharatpur.
Asif further said government has failed on all fronts. Hence it is misleading young generation in the name of religion to divert their attention from the failure.
Jamsheed alleged that Municipal elections are scheduled to be held in Rajasthan hence the anti-social elements, with a planned conspiracy, have killed an innocent to polarize the state.
