Amravati, August 10: Markets and business Establishments in the city remained closed today in response to a bandh called by Amravati Mahanagar Chamber of Industries to demand abolition of octroi from the local municipal corporation.
A morcha of traders, who shouted slogans in support of the demand, was taken to the Collectorate here.
The bandh was part of the shutdown called in all the 15 ‘D’ class Municipal Corporations in the state.
The shutdown evoked good response in the city.
A delegation of traders later submitted a memorandum to the Resident District Collector.
