The government has released Rs. 1.10 crores for the construction of underground water sump at historical Makkah Masjid. Minority Welfare Department issued orders in this connection. Secretary Minority Welfare Ahmed Nadeem decided to issue the amount after reviewing the pending works at Makkah Masjid. The construction work of the sump has been assigned to Water Works and Sewerage Board.
However complaints of slothfulness have been received. It is said that water works board is unable to carry on the work due to non issuance of budget. After the construction of the sump water scarcity problem for making ablution and other necessities will be solved.
