Hyderabad: Government has released Rs. 50 lakh for salaries of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid staff. Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel issued orders on Saturday in this connection. Current year 59 lakh were allocated for both the masajid of which 50 lakh have been released. Director Minority Welfare has been authorised to obtain the amount and release to District Minority Welfare Officer.
It must be noted that staff of Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid were deprived of salaries for the past 4 months; despite continuous representations they were feeling helpless. The situation was created due to delay in release of budget by Finance Department.
Every year government releases one month additional salary to staff of both the masajid during Ramadan as bonus but it was not possible during Ramadan hence the said bonus was also released on Saturday. Sadly Makkah Masjid superintendent is deprived of salary for 7 months.
