Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid, Corporator of Azampura Municipal Division demanded an apology from the Mayor of GHMC for using uparliamentary words during the meeting. He told this to the news reporters. He alleged that Majlis and Congress are preventing him from raising his voice against the irregularities in GHMC.
Mayor stopped him from addressing the meeting and used unparliamentary language. He is therefore, unfit to hold the post of Mayor. By using such words, the Mayor has brought disrepute to his post. Mr. Khalid told that misappropriations are taking place in municipal funds. Town Planning officials are also keeping quiet because they have earned lakhs of rupees.
Mr. Khalid pointed out that it is easier to get arms license rather than getting any license from GHMC. He told that the development of the city has been deteriorated on account of corrupt officials. He mentioned that international agency such as COP-11 also pointed out corruption but it is being suppressed. He demanded the Mayor to issue a white paper on the Job Melas organized by GHMC as they have not proved to be useful to the unemployed candidates. These “Melas” are being organized in particular areas only to promote individual publicity. He told that he would continue his protest against the use of unparliamentary words by the Mayor of GHMC.
