Amit Shah, who strategised second wave in favour of NaMo, likely to get key portfolio

New Delhi: Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime minister on May 30. Council of Ministers will also take oath along with him. Several names are in the list for the ministries. Speculation has been rife that BJP president Amit Shah, who won the Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar with a massive margin, may join the next Modi cabinet. His name is in the headlines for 3 ministerial positions.

It is believed that Finance minister Arun Jaitley and foreign affairs minister Sushma Swaraj could not be inducted in the cabinet owing to health reasons. Speaker’s post will also be vacant as Sumitra Mahajan had not contested the election.

Amit Shah could be given the home ministry or finance ministry. He can also be considered for the defence ministry.

However, the future role of Amit Shah, who strategised and delivered a second wave in favour of Narendra Modi, has become the talking point in political circles. If Shah joins the government, he is likely to get a key portfolio, but this will leave the post of party president open.
