Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah, on Monday urged people to give absolute majority to the party in poll-bound Jharkhand.
Shah said the BJP government would change the fate of Jharkhand, if voted to power.
“You should give absolute majority to the Bharatiya Janata Party once. We will change the fate of Jharkhand,” Shah said in Jamshedpur city.
The BJP chief blamed the Congress party for political instability in the state, which was formed in 2000, and said it is beset with corruption.
“The Congress party began plotting as the governments were formed. They dislodged many governments,” Shah added.
Meanwhile, election officials left for polling booths in the Maoist affected districts of Latehar by helicopters.
Maoists have called for boycott of the five-phased polls in Jharkhand that will begin from November 25 and end on December 20. The results would be announced on December 23.
“We are being sent by a helicopter. There couldn’t be anything more secure than this. We are not scared at all. We are very enthused to go there and conduct voting in time. ” said an election official Prakash Kumar Yadav.
The security forces had launched a massive anti-Maoist operation on November 11 to prevent any problem in the election process. (ANI)
