Ahmedabad: Amit Shah, BJP national chief, was not impressed with the poll preparation in Gujarat. Shah reviewed the performance of all the cells and morchas of the party and critised them for their incompetence.
He was in a meeting at the Gujarat BJP’s headquarter Shri Kamalam, where he met all office bearers and asked them to present their action reports but many failed, said the sources, as per a report by DNA.
A senior BJP leader said, “Shah was displeased with the Gujarat BJP. He was not happy because the party failed to create a favourable atmosphere on every front. He also asked the representative of cells and morchas to analyse the work done during the past polls of the Lok Sabha and to compare it with the present status.”
“It is obvious that PM Modi and Shah were here in Gujarat and they had charted the blueprint for the preparation of the last polls. However, Shah is a positive leader and came up with solutions to different issues. We are making changes accordingly,” said the leader.
The national chief will stay in Gujarat for one more day. While he gave directions to all MLAs and MPs of BJP to give their best contribution for Gujarat Gaurav Yatra, he also instructed the BJP to launch its poll campaign through this Yatra, added the source.
