CPI Telangana Secretary and former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy today ridiculed BJP National President Amit Shah for trying to hatch a conspiracy by talking lies at Suryapet meeting stating that the Centre gave Rs 90,000 crore to Telangana and the State government failed to use them.
In a pressnote here on Sunday, the CPI leader found fault with Amit Shah’s comments which were bluntly condemned by Finance Minister Etala Rajender. The people and political parties are not ready to believe Shah’s false words, he said. Actually Rajender said the Centre gave only Rs 36,000 crore and sough timely help for drought and other heads, he said. Irrespective of any party, the Centre should offer funds to all States as per norms. This time the 14th Finance Commission made recommendations on allocations to the States as per the Constitution, he said.
Though Telangana government sought Rs 3,064 crore towards drought relief, the Centre gave only Rs 712 crore, he fumed. Despite failing to provide more financial assistance to prevent farmers’ suicides, the Centre has not yet fulfilled the AP Bifurcation Act and denied package or help and national status to any project for Telangana State, he deplored. While this is so, the State BJP leaders are making “useless” comments against the State government. Even as the Modi Government failed to implement its promises, the State BJP leaders did not condemn Shah’s comments, but were also making false statements, he charged. (NSS)
