Amit Shah To Attend BJP Mega Meet In Odisha On November 25

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Panchayat elections in Odisha, BJP on Saturday announced plans to organise a large meeting in Odisha on November 25, where party president Amit Shah will sound the poll bugle and “expose the inefficiency, inertia and misrule” during 17 years of BJD rule in the state.

“Many national leaders including party president Amit Shah will join the mega event being organised at Bhubaneswar on November 25,” BJP’s Odisha unit chief Basant Panda said at a preparatory meeting for the ‘Maha Samavesh’ ahead of the panchayat polls next year.

Claiming that the conclave will “lay the foundation” for establishing BJP government in the state, Panda alleged the state remained “backward” due to “inertia, inefficiency, misrule and rampant corruption” during the BJD rule in the last 17 years.

He alleged that the BJD government has failed to ensure proper health care, education, power, good roads, drinking water and irrigation facilities in the state. It also failed to ensure safety and security for children, women, farmers, tribals and Dalits.

Accusing BJD of complaining about negligence by the Centre to “hide its failure and inefficiency”, Panda said the state has been depending heavily on the Centre to undertake all development activities.

He also accused the Chief Minister of making false announcements as all the programmes have turned out to be “hollow”.

Speaking at the meeting, BJP leader and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said while health services have collapsed in Odisha, education sector is in complete disarray and youths are facing growing unemployment during the BJD rule.
