Mumbai, June 17: In a rare first of its kinds, Amisha Patel the female actor of KAHO NA PYAAR HAI fame, who did not get the same amount of spotlight as her co-star Hrithik is getting, has got an honor that would make the film industry proud. She has been invited by her Alma mater Tufts University in Massachusetts to conduct a six-week course on drama, Hindi Cinema and entertainment. Any female actor or for that matter any actor of the Indian origin would give her or his right hand for this honour and Amisha Patel indeed is elated.
Belonging to a generation that is still trying to be in vogue by selling oomph, style and sex, Amisha has indeed done the industry proud, but it also is ironical that it has not called for celebration. May be, Amisha has yet not decided the dates so she is also keeping it under wraps for the time being. May be it is the genes that has taken her this far.
Amisha Patel is having two comedy releases in a short while; the first one is RUN BHOLA RUN with Govinda, Tusshar Kapoor and Celina Jaitley, while the second one CHATUR SINGH TWO STAR is opposite Sanjay Dutt. CHATUR SINGH TWO STAR has drawn inspiration from the PINK PANTHER series, and it is a movie that has been shot in South Africa.
Her career has been studded with diverse roles and she is made for acting manifest from the fact that after the phenomenal success of KAHO NA PYAAR HAI she did a film like GADAR where she had to be covered from head to toe in clothes. Many a film star would have thought twice before doing this Hara-kiri but not Amrita Patel. She followed it up with HONEYMOON TRAVELS where she had to grapple with a husband who had the homosexual tendencies.
May be, the kind of diverse roles that she had enacted in a short career would hold her in good stead to provide a good insight into the way the Indian cinema industry functions in generals, and the Hindi film industry in particular functions.
