Amidst protests Srikrishna Committee arrives in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 04: The Srikrishna Committee that was set up by the centre to study the situation in Andhra Pradesh on statehood issue has arrived in Hyderabad on a two-day visit. Committee Chairman Justice Srikrishna has arrived in the city amidst tight security this evening while the members have reached in the morning.

Immediately after the arrival Justice Srikrishna adressing a press conference at Lake view he told that the comittee would not only seek opinion from the various political parties but also from the general public. He appealed to the public that instead of protesting and boycotting the committee the public should help in preparing the evaluative report.

The committee is planning to obtain information related to administrative aspects from the Government during its maiden visit to Hyderabad. Besides state Governor ESL Narasimhan, the members will meet the Chief Minister K Roshaiah and the Chief Secretary SV Prasad of the state Government.

Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made near the Guest House where the members are staying. Early this morning the police have taken into custody the advocates and activists of Telangana Joint Action Committee, who staged protests against SriKrishna Committee near the International Airport and at the Guest house in Hyderabad.
