Amidst Jinnah’s portrait row, AMU fraternity ask will Jinnah’s portrait be removed from the parliament?

Aligarh: Amidst controversy over Jinnah’s portrait in the union hall of Aligarh Muslim University, another picture has become viral which has been put up in parliament house. In the picture Pakistan founder, Mohammed Ali Jinnah is also seated along with several political leaders. The AMU students questioned whether the picture will be removed from the Parliament. In the said picture Jansangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee is also there with Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

In a message posted along with the picture AMU fraternity has said Jinnah was neither liked by us yesterday nor is liked today but whose portrait should be put up where is decided by the constitution of the country and courts, not by general public or leaders of the country.

It must be noted that right-wing forces have attacked AMU students objecting the portrait of Pakistani founder Jinnah placed in the union hall of Aligarh Muslim University. Historic portrait of Ali Mohammad Jinnah has been there at the union hall since 1938.
