Americans disapprove of Barack Obama

Washington, August 25: About 72% of Americans in a poll said they were worried about unemployment. 67% also said they are very concerned about government spending.

The survey comes ahead of the congressional midterm elections which begin in November. The US unemployment rate and huge budget deficit are exhausting the Democrats, reported Reuters.

Obama’s popularity is deteriorating at a rapid pace. This comes as more negative economic data surfaced on Tuesday. The statistics showed that sales of existing homes plummeted to the slowest pace in 15 years last month.

In the US, existing home sales in July has slumped a record 27-percent from June. The disappointing data was published in a report by the National Association of realtors.

Analysts had expected a decline but not of this proportion. Soon after, Chicago Federal Reserve President warned that the risk of a double-dip recession was higher than six months ago.
