Washington: Noted American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, social critic and political activist, Noam Chomsky explained the bonds between the US and Israel.
During a debate when asked a question, “What combination of ideology, propaganda, lobbying and money makes Israel’s security such a sacred American cow?”, he explained the reasons behind American support to Israel.
He said, “Republicans support Israeli policies partly because of interpretation of Bible and the Book of Revelation”
Talking about the history of the US support for Israel, he said, “In 1967, there was a conflict between radical Islam in Saudi Arabia and secular nationalism which meant Egypt. The US consistently supports radical Islam just as British did. After Israel administered lethal blow to secular nationalism, American aid to Israel shot up”.
He further said that the US and Israel have close military and intelligence relations. “Raffaele industry, the major Israeli military industry is closely linked to US military industry”, he added.
