Hyderabad, January 24 (INN): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Special Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the case pertaining to denotification of 9.14 acres of prime land at Ameerpet in the city to February 3.
The court posted the petition after hearing the arguments of Principal Secretary (Home) B P Acharya and principal secretary (Industries and Commerce) T Sanyasi Rao.
Acharya’s counsel argued that the GO 288 to denotify the HMDA land was issued as per the law. The counsel also said that the officials issued the denotification after consulting the legal experts. After hearing the arguments, the court posted the matter for further hearing on February 3.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) senior official Narayana Reddy did not attend the court despite the issuing of summons by the ACB court.
The denotification of prime land at Ameerpet came under the scanner during the tenure of former chief minister K Rosaiah. The ACB officials registered a case against Rosaiah under the Prevention of Corruption Act based on the directions of the ACB court following a complaint lodged by Mohan Lal.
However, the court decided to examine the witnesses and verify the evidence gathered by Mohan Lal since the petitioner alleged that ACB failed to do a proper investigation and gave a clean chit to Rosaiah. (INN)
