Shabby clothes, frail body, trembling hands, wrinkled face, poverty apparent through her face; this is the sketch of Ameen Bi, a 50 year old woman, who was collecting dried twigs from Chandulal Baradari. Keeping the heavy load of twigs on her head she could hardly balance herself and was stumbling along the path.
Ameen Bi told that she has two children and her husband is a habitual drunkard. Since her husband doesn’t do any work, she has to take care of the family. She does whatever work she finds. When our correspondent asked for any contact number so that anyone who wants to help the poor woman can approach her, the woman with high self-respect refused any kind of help. She told that Allah is sufficient for her. ‘We will live by doing work and labour, we do not want any help.’ She said.
