AMC issues ten quarantine notices to IIM-A

Ahmedabad, August 24: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued ten quarantine notices to premier B-school IIM-A after three of its students tested positive for swine flu, an official said.

So far three IIM-A students have tested positive for H1N1 virus.

“We have issued ten quarantine notices to IIM-A that enumerate all the preventive measures to be adopted after two more students on the campus tested positive for swine flu recently,” AMC Medical Health Officer S P Kulkarni said.

“Those who came in close contact with the students have also been put under observation, and we have asked IIM-A to take all preventive measures,” he added.

“Of the two boys who tested positive recently one has gone back home and has quarantined himself as per the guidelines issued by AMC. Earlier, a girl had tested positive for swine flu,” IIM-A Medical Officer Kiran Desai said.

“But we are taking all possible precautions as suggested by the AMC to prevent spread of the virus on the campus,” he added.

Meanwhile, an IIM-A spokesperson said there has been no change in any of the scheduled activities on the campus so far.
