Ambedkar’s statue in Assembly premises soon: Dy Speaker

State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the government has taken a decision to install constitutional architect Dr B R Ambedkar’s statue in the Assembly premises.

Talking to media persons after garlanding the portrait of Dr Ambedkar at Assembly Committee Hall to mark his 122nd birth anniversary, Vikramarka said that the government, in principle, has decided to install the Ambedkar’s statue in the Assembly premises. However, the government has to identify the exact location for installing the statue. He said that the government would take a decision on this after consulting all-party leaders soon.

Meanwhile, the leaders of all political parties paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and recalled his services for the nation.

Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana, Labour Minister Danam Nagender and Marketing Minister M Mukesh Goud, Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi and Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan were also present in the programme. (INN)
