Ambati receives letter threatening to kill Jagan

Guntur, March 17: Former Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s aide and former MLA Ambati Rambabu today received a letter by post along with two samples of cyanide by an anonymous writer who threatened to kill Jagan if he did not stop his anti-government activities.

“The chief minister and we have taken this decision. We will kill Jagan Mohan Reddy using cyanide,” the writer said.

The letter dated March 9 said that they had tolerated the activities of Jagan with utmost patience.

The writer wanted Jagan to let Kiran Kumar Reddy government complete its full term and that he should not field his candidates in the elections to the Legislative Council. Interestingly, the writer said the TDP too was supporting the Kiran Kumar Reddy government to prevent its collapse.

Rambabu lodged a complaint with the police. Guntur superintendent of police A Ravichandra directed the Pattabhipuram police to register a case and investigate.

Rambabu, reacting to TDP leaders filing a petition in the High Court against Jagan, said that it was strange that a party whose leader amassed huge wealth through dubious means, should choose to file a petition in the court against the inaction of the government. He said that the TDP leaders, unable to face Jagan on a political plane, were resorting to these tactics.
