Ambati issued noticed over outburst against CM

Hyderabad, July 09: The Congress Disciplinary Committee on Friday issued a notice to PCC general secretary Ambati Rambabu to appear before it on July 12 and explain his outburst against Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

The notice was issued after 20 Pradesh Congress Committee office-bearers filed a complaint against Mr Rambabu for criticising Mr Rosaiah. Mr Rambabu had said that it was wrong for the Chief Minister to celebrate his own birthday on a grand scale within a year of the death of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

The staunch YSR family loyalist had also criticised Mr Rosaiah for not supporting the Odarpu Yatra taken out by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, son of the former chief minister.

He had said that ideally Mr Rosaiah should have taken out the Odarpu Yatra and consoled the people who died following YSR’s death.

Mr Rambabu’s comments had led to the Chief Minister lashing out against his party colleagues for not effectively rebutting the charges made against him at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party to pay homage to YSR on his birth anniversary on Thursday.
