Alwar lynching again: Muslim man killed over transporting cattle, 2 other injured

Alwar: Cow vigilantes allegedly shot a Muslim man dead and thrashed his other two aides, while they were transporting cows near the Rajasthan-Haryana border. The incident had taken place on November 10 in Fahari village in Rajasthan’s Alwar.

As per sources, Ummar Muhammad and the other two were transporting cows from Haryana’s Mewat to Bharatpur in Rajasthan but a mob detained and assaulted them, reports News18. Official sources said that Ummar died of a bullet and his dead body has been kept in a mortuary at Shehr hospital.

Iliyas Muhammad, Ummar’s uncle requested Alwar police to file an FIR. The vehicle in which “dairy cows were being transported” was surrounded by a group of 7-8 people, he said. Adding to that, he said, the three were not taking cows for slaughtering. The other two ran away from the scene, Tahir Muhammad (one of them) got himself admitted to a hospital.

Ummar’s relatives alleged that policemen too were present at the crime scene but did not stop the vigilantes. They demanded an immediate arrest, but no FIR in the case has been registered so far regarding the murder. While the panchayat leader, Sher Muhammad, alleged that the murderers tried to show the incident as an accident by throwing Ummar’s body on railway tracks.

“When the police located his body, they brought it to the Shehr Hospital mortuary. There was no investigation carried out. The family members recognised Ummar with the help of his slippers,” Sher Muhammad said.

He said the family will not accept the body and bury it until an FIR is lodged.
