Alwar: 23 YO beaten up for alleged cow smuggling by villagers

Jaipur: A 23-year old man was arrested for allegedly smuggling cows in Alwar district of Rajasthan police reports said.

The incident came to light when a truck carrying 6 animals that were being transported to Haryana was stopped by a few villagers.

According to Station House Officer of Kishangarh Bas Police Station Rajesh Meena, two suspects managed to escape while their other associate was caught and beaten up by the villagers.

Following which he was taken to the hospital for treatment and later was arrested on Sunday, NDTV reports.

The police said the accused Sageer failed to provide any purchase documents related to the cattle.

A case was registered against him for the illegal transportation of the cattle while another case was registered against five unidentified villagers on the complaint of the arrested accused.
