Hyderabad: All India Muslim Minority organization here on Thursday requested the state government to take provide Judicial powers to the Wakf Board and also to take preventive steps to save the WAKF board and Wakf properties.
Syed Muqtar Hussain, AIMMO chairman, speaking to the media at Hyderguda NSS said the state government should take and protect the WAKF board properties worth of one lakh crore rupees, which are in possession of land grabbers. He said the WAKF board has 77,630 acres after the rule of Nizam’s, and presently 40000 acres are in possession of WAKF board and remaining 37630 acres of lands are in hands of land grabbers.
He said Chief Minister KCR has formed a committee under Retd. IAS officer Sinha to look into the issues of WAKF board properties, the officer has conducted an investigation, but no report was submitted to the government. Even the Assembly Speaker has constituted a committee, but it was also gone in vain. He also said that before the formation of Telangana State, the CM KCR had declared that he will take back possession of all Wakf lands grabbed by land grabbers and politically influenced persons, but unfortunately till date, no action was taken by the Government.
Hussain requested the government to give judicial power to Telangana WAKF board in order to take legal actions on land grabbers. He also asked for the appointment of Wakf Commissionerate in the state to take necessary decisions for the welfare of minorities.
MA Siddiqui, EX – director, A. P. state minority Finance Corporation, said as a ‘fundamental right, we are requesting the CM KCR to protect the WAKF board’. He appreciated the government in conducting the revenue survey statewide but regretted that there is no information on WAKF board properties online. He asked the government to upload the details of properties online and also to solve the problems of minorities in the state. (NSS)
