Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday alleged that the AP and TS governments were drawing political mileage from the PV Sindhu winning silver medal at Rio Olympics.
VHR said that if at all the state governments were serious about promoting sports in their respective states, then they should allocate funds and promote youngsters to participate in various sports. The governments should not give cash incentives for players after they perform, youngsters should be promoted by providing them required sports infrastructure much in advance, Rao said.
He also demanded the state governments to allocate Rs 10,000 crore in state budgets and by establishing sports academies for promotion of sports . He also suggested that the youngsters in Tribal areas be provided proper training to take up gymnastics. (INN)
