Tension prevailed in the Bhavaninagar area of old city late Sunday night after a youth killed himself by hanging at his residence, in his suicide note he alleged police harassment due to which he reportedly took extreme step.
Mohammed Aqeel (25) a resident of Nasheman Nagar area against whom the Moghalpura Police opened a communal rowdy sheet for his alleged involvement in the 2010 communal riots in Old city hanged himself at his residence late in the night while his family members were away.
He reportedly left behind hand written and signed suicide four notes purportedly written by him in which he alleged police harassment. “Police always harassment Muslims”, I am innocent”. Aqeel’s family members handed over the suicide to the Bhavani Nagar police.
According to the sources the in the year 2010 the Special Investigation team arrested Mohammed Aqeel and his brother Mohammed Khaleel in a case of allegedly inciting communal riots, attacking police and attempt to murder case. After their release the Moghalpura police opened a rowdy sheet against Aqeel while a suspect sheet was opened against his brother Khaleel.
The Bhavani Nagar Police have registered a case under section 174 IPC and taken up investigation.
