“Fortunately CBI is directed to take up the investigation. But we are still waiting [for a ruling] that the monitoring of this investigation should be from the apex court… Otherwise we still are not very hopeful of the fair enquiry. We hope that the Supreme Court will further order that they will supervise this investigation and then only we can expect any fairness or any justice from this,” Chacko told ANI
“The government was having no serious thought on this and Chief Minister [Shivraj Singh Chouhan] was taking everything lightly. So now that CBI investigation has started we want this investigation to be seriously done by CBI and all the bigwigs, who are connected with this, should be brought to book,” he added.
A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team is scheduled to reach Bhopal today to begin investigation into the Vyapam scam.
The investigating agency has constituted a special team of 40 officers, headed by a Joint Director level officer, to probe the scam.
The Supreme Court had last week transferred all cases relating to the Vyapam scam to the CBI. (ANI)
