TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao will take oath as first Chief Minister of Telangana State post bifurcation on June 2. He will be administered oath by Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Monday at 8.15 am. Narasimhan will also take oath as Governor of Telangana State at 6.30 am before KCR takes oath.
The Government has made all arrangements for the event which will be historical of sorts. The KCR Ministry is expected to comprise senior party leaders Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Etela Rajender, T. Harish Rao, K, Taraka Ramarao, Koppula Eshwar, Mahmood Ali, Padma Devender Reddy, Konda Surekha and others.
KCR seems to have left his mark in the governance by appointing a senior Telangana bureaucrat Rajiv Sharma as Chief Secretary of Telangana State, while Anurag Sharma is being tipped to be new DGP. Similarly, Shivadhar Reddy may head Intelligence wing and Mahender Reddy will be City Police Commissioner. The Telangana Government will have Mishra as its first Chief Forest Conservator.
While some 25 places in the twin cities have been decked up with rose color banners, flags, cutouts, hoardings and balloons comprising KCR photos and many thoroughfares are illuminated. Actual celebrations began in the evening at Gun Park where a galaxy of TRS leaders offered floral tributes to Telangana Martyr’s. To mark the great event. a large number of “Fire Crackers” were burst amid glee and gusto.
After paying tributes to T martyrs at Gun Park on June 2, KCR will drive to Raj Bhavan for swearing-in followed by administering oath to some 15 to 20 Cabinet ministers. Later, the new CM will address a mammoth meeting at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. Arrangements are made well in advance while security has been beefed up on the main roads while general public are put to traffic curbs for the time being. (NSS)
