All set for ICET-2012 on May 18

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the conduct of the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET-2012) for admission into MBA and MCA courses across the State on May 18.

Talking to reporters at Kakatiya University here on Tuesday, ICET-2012 convener Prof K Om Prakash said that about 1.36 lakh candidates have applied for the test. Compared to last year, he said the number of applicants for this year’s test has declined by nearly 10 per cent. The test will be conducted at 250 examination centres and 27 regional centres across the State.

Stating that hall tickets have been already dispatched to the candidates, Prof Prakash said that the candidates who did not get their hall tickets so far could download the same from ICET-2012 website. The candidates can also get the hall tickets from regional centres. He said the hall ticket numbers and examination centre would be informed to the candidates through SMS this year.

The convenor has asked all the candidates to reach the examination centres early as the candidates would not be allowed to take test if they come even one minute late.

The State has about one lakh seats in 940 MBA colleges and about 58,000 seats in 636 MCA colleges, which add up to more than 1.5 lakh seats. (INN)
