Hyderabad: Telangana All Pensioners & Retired Persons Association here on Saturday demanded that the State government immediately release the Pay Revision Commission report and announce Interim Relief of 43% with immediate effect.
Talking to media persons here on Saturday, Association president P. Krishna Murthy urged the State government to release 43% interim relief to all pensioners from July 1, 2018. Reminding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had declared on May 16 last year that he would announce Interim Relief for all employees and pensioners on State Formation Day on June 2, 2018, Krishna Murthy lamented that the State government remained mum on its promise even after a year.
Though the Telangana government was first in announcing reliefs to its employees, was now lagging behind the neighboring State, he said, adding that the KCR regime has forgotten all its promises and failed to implement them even after the expiry of election code. He also pointed out that the new Andhra Pradesh government has scrapped Contributory Pensions Act and decided to implement the old pension act for employees, who joined service after April 1, 2004.
The association’s other demands include release of PRC report; provision of improved health facilities like treatment in corporate hospitals; issue of health cards, revision of retired lectures’ pensions as per UGC norms, additional pension to those above 70 years and so on.
