All party leaders call bandh tomorrow

Tirupati, February 27: Leaders of various political parties have called for a bandh in this temple town tomorrow to protest the ”inhumane” behaviour meted out by policemen to agitators who laid siege to the TTD administrative building.

Police had inhumanly dragged the peaceful agitators and whisked them away when they were demonstrating peacefully in front of the TTD administration building as a part of the 48-hours siege.

The TTD authorities neither showed any sympathy towards the agitators who have been protesting since last one month, nor took any action on the long-pending demands, including rehabilitation of the Tirumala displaced families and contract and forest workers, Telugu Desam party spokesman Neelam Balaji told reporters here.

He also appealed to the business establishments and the educational institutions to cooperate for the success of the bandh tomorrow.

”The main objective of the bandh is to seek the attention of Chief Minister K Rosaiah to scrap the TTD trust board and to recall the Executive Officer,” Mr Balaji added.
