Welcoming the US announcement of a USD 10 million bounty on LeT founder Hafiz Saeed, BJP today said Pakistan has emerged as the hotbed of terrorism and insisted that all forces should unite to help flush out terrorists from the neighbouring country.
The “US has declared the bounty on Hafiz Saeed, the chief architect of 26/11 Mumbai attacks in which 166 people,
including six Americans, were killed. The Indian government has welcomed it. The BJP also welcomes this announcement,” BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
He described Pakistan as the “hotbed of terrorism” across the world.
Rudy cited the example of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, saying when he was tracked down he was living near a
cantonment in Abbotabad in Pakistan.
The BJP said that enough evidence is available globally to prove that Pakistan is sheltering terrorists and such
elements are living there.
“All forces should unite to ensure that terrorism and terrorists are flushed out from Pakistan,” Rudy said.
The opposition party said that though Saeed had planned the 26/11 attack, he was living in Pakistan under state
patronage.
Asked if India should flag this issue during the forthcoming visit of Pakistan President Asif Zardari, Rudy
evaded a direct reply.
Terrorism is unacceptable to us. It is being sponsored from Pakistani territory against us. We have to collectively
ensure that this is stopped,” Rudy he.
