Hyderabad, January 17: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mr. Salman Khurshid assured Managing editor Siasat daily Mr. Zaheer Uddin Ali Khan that all the 4 lakh applicants from Andhra Pradesh who applied for pre and post matric scholarships would be granted scholarships.
It should be remembered that the maximum number of scholarships have been received from the Andhra Pradesh state. Quota of less than 50000 has been allotted to Andhra Pradesh while 4.17 lakh applications have been submitted.
Last year too Ministry for Minority affairs had sanctioned scholarships nearly double of the quota allotted, prompted by Siasat daily.
This time applications have been received more than ten times the quota allotted for AP but the majority of them are feared to be deprived of scholarship. However on the representation made by Mr. Zaheer Uddin Ali Khan, Mr. Salman Khurshid assured that not a single Muslim student of the state would be deprived of scholarship.
