RAMGARH: Ramgarh fast track court (FTC) on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to 11 of the 12 accused convicted in Alimuddin Ansari’s lynching in the BJP-ruled state had witnessed a spade of cow-related lynchings cases.

According to Indian Express report, Additional Judge-II Om Prakash held 11 people guilty and after hearing both sides on the quantum of punishment handed out the life imprisonment.
On June 29, Alimuddin alias Asgar Ansari, 45, was beaten to death near Bajartand village in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district for carrying allegedly carrying beef in a Maruti van.
A mob led by members of a local gau raksha samiti stopped him and brutally attacked him causing grievous injuries. They also set his van on fire. Alimuddin was rushed to hospital but succumbed to injuries on the way.
The 11 convicted include district media cell incharge of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nitayanand Mahto, who has been arrested in connection with the lynching.
Photographs of Alimuddin bleeding with his van aflame and pieces of meat strewn around has gone viral on social media platforms.
