Aligarh: BJP members became furious after the newly elected Mayor Mohammad Furqan took oath in Urdu. BJP MLA Sanjiv Raja allegedly pulled backed a councilor Musharraf Husain who tried taking oath in Urdu as well. He was beaten up by BJP councilors. DM and SSP intervened and rescued the councilor.
During the clash mayor Mohammed Furqan Ahmed was rescued shifted through a vehicle. Miscreants also pelted stones on mayor’s vehicle. Officers had a tough time stopping BJP members from creating pandemonium.
Mohammed Furqan of BSP has won the Aligarh Municipal Corporation election in Aligarh. Scuffle erupted after the newly elected Mayor Mohammad Furqan took his oath in Urdu. BJP councilors created uproar while shouting ‘Bharat mata ki jai’, ‘Vandemataram’, ‘jai shri Ram’ slogans.
