Alert messages of heat wave: Dy CM Ali

Deputy Chief Minister, Mahamood Ali today said that the  heat wave web portal and app that he launched will prove handy to people to avoid the problem of sunstroke and falling sick.

      

Addressing media persons at Secretariat here,  the deputy chief minister said that through 885 sensors officials concerned will collect data pertaining to heat wave and alert the people through telecom service providers through heat wave app and information can be availed on special web portal and  can be seen at government website, he said. The people should remain indoors when heat wave temperature soared to  40 degrees, and  severe heat wave is put at 45 degrees Celsius and more. The aim of the heat wave app and heat wave web portal is to ensure that people of particular areas which are set to receive heat waves will receive messages on their mobile phones.    

     

Telangana IT department in coordination with disaster management wing is tied up with some of the cell phone service providers to send alert messages. Keeping scorching heat and Sunny days ahead the government has declared holidays for schools well in advance and private schools should follow the order. The new app, he said, will help the people remain indoors and avoid sunstroke problem and heat. District Collectors were directed to take immediate measures to press community groups, NGOs and those who personally provide drinking waters to the people. He also said that steps  be taken to press in more number of drinking water centers (Chalivendras) at some places, keep ready 108, 104 ambulances and to provide  water, butter milk in some of RTC buses and health centers, hospitals with required OR and IV fluids to deal with dehydration and awareness programmes  at bus stations and railway stations.(NSS)
