New Delhi: Giving security reasons, the centre has directed the states to be cautious and observe the movements of the Rohingya. Railway officials also received a circular with intelligence input of possible mass scale movement of Rohingya from the northeast to Kerala via trains.
The letter sent to Indian Railway stated there are inputs indicating a huge number of Rohingyas are travelling from every corner of North East states and ultimately heading towards Kerala. It also listed 14 Southbound trains they can use. Officers and staff in control are instructed to hand over the Rohingyas to Police.
It must be recalled that declaring all Rohingyas living in India as illegal, home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday had said that state governments have been directed to observe the movements of Rohingyas. He has directed all states including Kerala to gather information regarding Rohingyas as they have reached every corner of the country.
Claiming that the issue is related to national security, in a meeting of BJP Kerala unit, he appealed all political parties not to politicize the issue.
