Hyderabad: SIT Chief, Mr. Sandeep Shandalia visited the site of Alair Fake Encounter and completed the formalities.
It may be mentioned that on 7th April, 2015, Vikhar Ahmed and his colleagues, Syed Amjad Ali, Mohammed Zakir, Mohammed Haneef alias Dr. Haneef and Azhar Khan were killed in an alleged fake encounter while bringing them from Warangal Central Jail for presenting them before Metropolitan Magistrate in Hyderabad.
It is alleged that Vikhar had shot dead U. Ramesh, a police constable to take revenge of the Makkah Masjid Bomb Blast. Govt. had constituted a 6-meber Special Investigation Team on 13th April 2015. Mr. Sandeep Shandalia, IG of Police was made its head. The members of the team were Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, Joint Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Mr. M. Dayanand Reddy DSP (Intelligence), Mr. M. Ramana Kumar, ACP, Madhapur, Mr. L. Raja Venkat Reddy, Inspector (Task Force) and Mr. S. Ravinder (Inspector, Panjagutta).
Mr. Shandalia had constituted a 17 member police party which recorded the statements of the eye-witnesses and seized weapons used in the encounter and the mini-bus.
When contacted, Mr. Shandalia told that the report from State Forensic Laboratory about the weapons used in the encounter has already been received. A comprehensive report would soon be prepared which would be submitted to Govt.
