Samajwadi Party’s Telangana unit women’s cell chairman Nagalaxmi donated Rs. 1 lakh each to the families of three Muslim youth who were killed in an alleged encounter with the police at Alair of Nalgonda district on April 7.
While addressing the Maha Dharnat at Indira Park on Saturday, Nagalaxmi first announced Rs. 2 lakh financial assistance to the families of five Muslim youth were killed in encounter. However, the family members of Viquar Ahmed and Syed Amjad refused to take financial assistance. At the intervention of MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan Khaled, Nagalaxmi raised the financial assistance to Rs. 3 lakh and announced that Rs. 1 lakh each would be given to the families of Mohd Zakir, Mohd Haneef and Izhar Khan, who were killed in the encounter.
Amjed Ullah Khan informed that Nagalaxmi had earlier donated Rs. 10 lakh for the rehabilitation of communal riots victims of Muzaffarabad in Uttar Pradesh. (INN)
